They really do. I love glee, but it’s pretty obvious sometimes that they lip sing.

Maybe the background vocals are lypsung, but the lead vocals are not! You can tell.

Why can’t they ever perform the version where everyone gets a solo and Mercedes belts out the closing notes?

well yeah but it is their actual voices (at least the characters who get solos during the songs) but they prerecord the songs and then synch it up with the performances. Though sometimes they get in studio voices like when the Cheerios perform Say a little pray for you its only Quinn’s actress singing, Britanny and Santana’s actresses aren’t actually singing instead its studio voices as back ups
